Our Christmas Recital at the Ballard House is scheduled for December 14 at 5:00 pm. The facility asks that we start the recital promptly, so please plan to arrive at least five minutes early. The residents will be congregating for dinner during our recital, so there may be a little more noise than usual downstairs, but it will still be a great performance opportunity!

Students have two performance opportunities in December:
Our spring recital is traditionally held on the first or second Saturday in May (scroll down to a previous post to see the announcement of last year's recital). All students are strongly encouraged to participate. This post will be updated when the exact time has been scheduled.
All students are encouraged to participate in our Christmas performance at The Ballard House on Saturday, December 10, 2016. The exact performance time will be updated here as soon as it is available -- please plan on an afternoon recital. We will wear formal attire, Christmas-themed if desired. Please review proper performance etiquette prior to attending.
The Ballard House is a place for seriously ill people and their families to stay while the patients undergo medical treatment, so this is a great opportunity for us to share our talents and the true spirit of Christmas. This year's Christmas performance will be held at the Sunrise senior living community, located at 21939 Cinco Ranch Boulevard (very close to Ms. Combs's studio!). There is no participation fee, but please let Ms. Combs know if you will be able to perform so that she can plan the program. The recital will begin at 4:00 pm on December 12 and last approximately 45 minutes.
The Katy Music Teachers Association Christmas Recital will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2014, at Grand Lakes Presbyterian Church. Students may play one Christmas piece by memory. There is an entry fee of $10.00, which must be paid before the November 11 deadline. The recital is divided into three sessions, at 11 am, 12 noon, and 1 pm. Please specify if you have a time preference; otherwise, the organizers will assign a performance time.
Students wishing to participate in this event should choose a piece with Ms. Combs during the first or second lesson in October. All students are requested to perform in the annual Studio Recital, to be held on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 5:30 pm, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1603 Norwalk Drive; Katy, TX 77450. Plan to enter through the south doors (the ones facing Highland Knolls Boulevard).
This recital will follow the usual format: each student will play one or two pieces, followed by a brief meet-and-greet-and-eat-cookies afterward. Please carefully review the Recital Etiquette post on the blog. Further information will be distributed in upcoming lessons, e-mails, and blog posts, so stay tuned! Although our recital is in late April this year, lessons will continue through the end of the year. Students are encouraged to continue attending lessons during summer vacation, as schedules permit. The Katy Music Teachers Association Christmas Recital will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2012, at Grand Lakes Presbyterian Church. Students may play one Christmas piece by memory. There is an entry fee of $8.00, which must be paid before the November 11 deadline. The recital is divided into three sessions, at 10 am, 11 am, and 12 noon. Please specify if you have a time preference; otherwise, the organizers will assign a performance time.
